I know that the movie has been out earlier in 2013 and have watched it before, but my friend just watched it the other day and it reminded me watch it again and then write about it.  Watching it the second time still made me cry and it was even weirder because I watched it during the day in my workstation at home where people can see me. HA! Good thing my peers at home are busy in the kitchen. Although, I tried not to cry, tears just kept falling and my eyes were swollen after the whole movie

Korean Drama: Bride of the Century 2014

I just discovered this drama. I am watching it because of Hong Ki. LOL  I haven't really had any previews or reviews on this new drama. I just saw this drama just uploaded in Gooddrama and when I saw it was Hong Ki, it immediately caught my attention. LOL

The Taeyang Corporation is the largest conglomerate in South Korea. The family that runs Taeyang has been under a curse for 100 years. The curse began when the first bride of the family's first son died. Under this situation, a love like fairy tale occurs while conspiracies run rampant. See AsianWiki

Drama: Bride of the Century (literal title)
Revised romanization: Baeknyeonui Shinboo
Hangul: 백년의 신부
Director: Yun Sang-Ho
Writer: Baek Young-Sook
Network: CSTV
Episodes: 20
Release Date: February 22 - April 27, 2014
Runtime: Saturdays & Sundays 20:00
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea

Cast
Yang Jin Sung as Na Doo Rim (25) / Jang Yi Kyung (25)
Lee Hong Ki as Choi Kang Joo (29)

The only drama I saw with Hong Ki on it is with You're beautiful. He was funny then. I did see him on the reality show We Got Married, where he was paired with Fuji Mina, a Japanese actress. He was also funny but a little cold towards Mina. But I was touched when he made a stage in the parking area his farewell performance to Mina. It was so sweet.

Going back to this drama, I see he dyed his hair black again. I am used to seeing him with blonde hair. He looks more handsome with black hair. He sings really well and I am guessing the drama's OST  will probably come from his band, FT Island and I know it's going to be a hit, for the OST alone. Let's see. ^_^

Korean Movie: Windstruck

Windstruck movie poster.jpgPolice Officer Kyung Jin (Jun Ji-Hyun) met Myung-Woo (Jang Hyuk) in a not so romantic way. Myung-Woo was trying to capture a theif when he Kyung-Jin mistakenly accused him of being the thief. Somehow they were handcuffed to each other for a whole day and got to know about each other. This was the start of their love story. They went on a trip and got into an accident where Myung-Woo almost died but Kyung-Jin saved his life. After that incident their lives went on and their love deepened. However, death haunts his target and this time took the life of Myung-Woo in a crime scene where Kyung-Jin thought she killed him. Kyung-Jin was so depressed with the loss and was never able to move on. She promised herself that she would find justice for his death by capturing the person in the crime scene before 40 days and after that she will move on.

I laughed so hard at the first part of the movie especially when they were teasing and joking around. As expected of a typical Korean story, the second half was full of tears. Starting at the part where Myung-Woo almost died. I cried so hard in the end when Myung-Woo is already leaving earth. Kyung-Jin was so hopeful he would stay but he couldn't, too bad. The title of the movie Windstruck was taken when Myung-Woo promised her that he will become the wind when time comes that he has to leave earth and this was evident with the pinwheels all turning in the room. It looks so nice, I tried to make our little room like that but there was not that much wind coming from the outside. LOL

Just an additional information about this movie, this has a sequel Sassy Girl. It may not be a sequel but Sassy Girl is linked to this movie because of the progress of the story. Will be writing about it also.

Directed by Kwak Jae-yong
Produced by Jeong Hun-tak
Starring
Jun Ji-hyun as Kyung Jin
Jang Hyuk as Myung Woo

Korean Movie: Baby and I

BABY AND I.JPG
Teenage responsibility is what the movie wants to share to the viewers.

Joon-Soo is a troublemaker and always gets in fights in anywhere he goes. His parents got tired of raising a troublemaker so they packed their bags and left home leaving him only an allowance. There was not an ounce of sadness in Joon-Soo's face and in fact he was too happy that he wanted to have a party at home with his friends. While shopping for party food, he stumbled upon a baby left in a cart. When he surrendered the baby at the grocery in charge, they found a note saying that the father was him. This was the start of his new adventure... Read more at wiki..

Even when he was still young, Jang Geun Suk showed versatility in his acting skills. He still looked good even at a younger age. The movie shows how kids these days are being irresponsible of their actions. It was very funny at first because he wanted to get rid of the baby so bad but eventually he fell in love with the kid and wanted to keep him for himself.  Friendship is also tested by seeing what would the other do knowing that it was actually his friend that planned it in the first place. I have to give Mason Moon (baby) a kiss on the cheek for being cute throughout the movie.

Cast:
  • Jang Geun Suk as Han Joon-Soo
  • Moon Mason as Baby Woo-Ram
  • Kim Byul as Kim Byul
Running time: 96 minutes
Release date(s) August 13, 2008

Dramacrazy.net no longer exist

Dramacrazy.net banner
My ultimate source of free Korean dramas/movies, Dramacarzy.net announced last month that they will stop their service. This was a shocking news to many Kdrama addicts like me.  Unfortunately, they did not really state the reason for shutting down. Many even wanted to offer donations but I guess it was already too late since it was a very sudden exit from the world wide web. But I don't think it was all about the money, maybe it was because of copyright infringement, whatever that is,  that they had to immediately shut down. They only gave the users 24 hours to save their profile and to log into the forum which eventually closed after 48 hours when they announced it.

The site is my fist choice when I want to watch a particular drama or movie. Not only that they have a complete collection but the the site also has new and current dramas/movies. Too bad that they had to end their service.

Their sister site Animecrazy.net also ended their service to anime addicts as well. My sister, who is an anime fan, was also heartbroken hearing the unfortunate news.

Looking for websites just like dramacrazy.net is no joke. I have not found a site as close to what dramacrazy.net was. I did found some useful websites but they did not have a complete collection of the dramas/movies I wanted to watch. Right now, I am still on the hunt for a website that offers free Korean drama and movies. If you happen to know one which will work in the Philippines, please let me know. Let us share the word and gather.

Crazy Fist Love

A funny story about childhood love.

Tae-il had a childhood friend Il-Mae who he gew up with since Il-mae's mother died when she was a baby. Tae-il's mom was the one who nurtured her. Il-mae's father challenged Tae-il to do everything he says so he can marry her. AS they grow up Tae-il has been showing Il-Mae how he feels by announcing it to everyone and promising her father that he will never touch her until they are married. Il-Mae on the other hand has been looking for ways to get rid of him to the point that she is marrying another man who she knows has other women.
Il-mae also loves tae-il and doesn't want him to get hurt when she is gone because she had a deadly disease that may eventually kill her.

It is such a cute love story. The typical Korean style of movies where the beginning of the story is funny and the development of the characters and later towards the end, you will cry your heart out.
