This blog is supposed to be a happy blog, hence the name
AllAboutHappyEndings, However, I cannot help but post about the recent
devastation that the Super Typhoon Haiyan, aka Yolanda in the
Philippines, brought about to many of the provinces in the Philippines,
particularly in the Visayas region. It has been five days since the
typhoon hit the country (11/8/13) but until now dead bodies found laying
on the streets of Tacloban and Leyte are the headlines of every news.
The whole city of Tacloban and Leyte is totally wiped out by the flood
and the wind brought by the storm. The least we can do to the victims is
to pray that they remain strong and to never loose thier faith in God.
On
a lighter note, people from all over the country and the world are
extending their support and help in the affected areas. With this, we
learn to share and reach out to those who are in need of our help.
Celebrities and TV Personalities from all over the world are even
extending help and doing their share in spreading the word about this
devastating crisis that the Philippines is going through.
Here
are several ways to offer our donation to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan
(I am, in no way affiliated or associated with the following
organizations, I only posted the link of thier website where you can
also help) This is the least I could do for the victims of Haiyan.
World Food Programme Their
website is set to let their visitors see the donate button right away.
If you wish to donate any amount, simply click on the donate button.
Website is at http://wfpusa.org/
The Philippine Red Cross is
one of the first groups to arrive in the provinces and they currently
need a lot of supplies, doctors and staff to attend to the victims. Your
donation will be used to get necessary medical equipments and medicines
for the victims. Go to redcross.org.ph to donate directly to the Philippine Red Cross.
Those
who are in the Philippines and has a BPI account which is enrolled for
online banking, you can also send your donations to the ABS-CBN account.
It can be found on the BPI website. Currently, the site is down, it may
be because of the traffic.
MSNBC has an article where you can find a list of websites where you can donate. Go to msnbc.com
Below
are screenshots of personalities who have extended thier sympathies and
support and of course one of them is Lee Min Ho (though, I believe the
page is made by a fan, but still thanks for the effort).
A
Post from Michelle Phan's Facebook Page. She is a make up guru who owns
Em Cosmetics based in New York. Though she has a very busy schedule,
she still post about helping the victims. The MSNBC link is actually
from her. Thank you!
I am also posting this to my other blog though I know that it has no visitors yet but just in case. :) Link to my other blog here.
I
cannot express my gratitude to those who already helped. I am a
Filipino and it really breaks my heart seeing my fellow countrymen
having to experience this. There are more donation drives being
conducted in every corners of the globe and we hope that the victims get
the help they need. Bangon Visayas! Kaya natin to!

Upcoming Korean Drama: Pretty Boy 11/20/13
It's all over the Internet now that Pretty boy, starring Jang Geun Suk and IU, will air in November 20, 2013. I think everybody is all caught up of Lee Min Ho's The Heirs Drama right now. With that said, this will be a challenge for Sukkie, since Lee Min Ho has currently captured the hearts of many. One other thing is, both dramas air every Wednesday and Thursday at the same timeslot in Seoul. Isn't that a coincidence? Maybe more like a conspiracy to me. Hmmmm Fans of Lee Min Ho and Jang Geun Suk residing in Korea would be switching networks from time to time. I'd do that, or better yet have two televisions, one tuned in to SBS (The Heirs) and the other to KBS2 (Pretty Boy). Good thing, I am not in Korea, i'd go crazy if I am there. LOL Unfortunately for me, I have to wait for a day to see the subbed version. I can go for the raw but its the same, I have to wait for a day. If there is a live broadcast of Seoul's TV networks I'd use that but then again my connection is very slow so if the streaming would go through, there would be a lag or a lot of pauses in between. Might as well wait for a day to get a smooth video playback.
Going back to Pretty Boy, Jang Geun Suk is really pretty. I think he is even prettier than IU, if he was made into a girl. LOL The story is about the most beautiful man in the world (of course, Jang Geun Suk) who wants to use his pretty face to make a lot of money. He then is tasked to make 10 women fall in love with him and this is where he met an ordinary girl of poor background who has a long crush on him.
Cast:
Jang Keun-Suk - Dokgo Ma-Te
IU - Kim Bo-Tong
Lee Jang-Woo - David Choi
Han Chae-Young - Hong Yoo-Ra
Director: Jung Jung-Hwa
Writer: Chon Kye-Young (cartoon), Yoo Young-A
Network: KBS2
Release Date: November 20, 2013 --
Runtime: Wed. & Thu. 21:55
Language: Korean
Can't wait for this drama. November 20, 2013 it is. It's a date. I'll be late, see you the next day. :)

Korean Drama: The Heirs 2013
The Heirs - The One Who Wants To Wear The Crown, Bear The Crown
I've been waiting for this drama since the start of the year and now its already broadcasting!
I have been looking forward to this drama simply because of the presence of Lee Min Ho. I am also curious as to how this will turn out because of Park Shin Hye. She is one of the my favorite female leads. This is another rich boy-poor girl story where the girl has a strong personality only has pride to protect. and so they meet in a not so fortunate meeting.

A romantic comedy about high school students living in top 1% high society. Things get turned topsy turvy when the students end up getting tangled with a girl from lower class who is the heir of poverty, and romance unfolds. See more info at DramaWiki

Sing Off Season 3
I watched Sing Off Season 3 in 2011 and found that it is an amazing show where talented singers do A Capella versions of just about any song you could think of. Although, I did not watch the previous seasons of Sing Off, I was amazed with the talents of the participants. I never thought that an A Capella version is even more nice to listen to than the original version.
One particular group that I rooted for is Delilah. Their first entry was "Grenade" by Bruno Mars (see video below). It was so powerful that they nailed it and set the bars too high for them to reach. Sadly after, they did not make it to the finals and got eliminated on Episode 8. Another favorite entry done by Delilah is "Whataya Want From Me" By Adam Lambert.
Pentatonix was the champion in season 4. My favorite entry is "Video Killed the Radio Star" and "E.T.". This group is a bunch of kids. Imagine kids with powerful voices. At the start of the competition, they did not really stand out but also not left behind. The group never stepped on the bottom place, not even once. What is good about this group is that they explore and take risk on their arrangement. They have the best beatbox and bass----soooo looow.
I am so looking forward to the next season which will be later this year.
Enjoy the best song in the competition, at least for me. ^_^

Korean Drama: Boys Over Flowers (2009)
This drama is an adaptation of the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango. It is the fifth adaptation of the said manga, Meteor Garden (Taiwanese drama) being the first adaptation. This was the series that made Lee Min Ho rise up. I watched this only after I watched his other drama, Personal Taste. I thought that the story would be the same with Meteor Garden (I watched this from start to end and even skipped school just to watch the drama LOL), which was actually true but there was something on this drama that distinguishes it from Meteor Garden and that is Lee Min Ho himself. The story may seem like just another teeny bopper drama but it the cast played it right to the point that it levels up to other successful drama's such as Winter Sonata.
Alternative Titles : Hana Yori Dango, Meteor Garden, 花样男子, 꽃보다 남자, Boys Over Flowers
Cast : Kim Bum, Kim Hyun-Joong, Koo Hye Sun, Kim Joon, Lee Min Ho
Episodes : Finished
Category: Korean Drama
Genres : Romance, Comedy
Type : TV Series
Release : 2009
