Korean Drama: You Who Came From Another Star Episode 21 Finale

And so, we are in the stage where we have to say goodbye, at least for Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi.

This is one of the dramas that totally broke my heart. I'm crying I as I am writing this. AHHHH!!! It has long been part of my list of favorite dramas of all times and will always be one of the top favorites. The drama keeps you laughing every episode and also makes you cry as hard as you laughed. 

Well, just a brief summary. As expected, Do Min Joon really left. Although, Cheon Song Yi already know that he is leaving, but she was not expecting him to leave so soon. They were in the balcony wishing on the meteors. He was telling her what to do when he is gone (never wear clothes that expose too much skin since it is cold, no kiss or back hug scenes and no melodrama, she should not cry or be hurt alone while he is gone, and never to find which star he went to because he will be the one looking out for her everyday) and both were crying but Cheon Song Yi did not face him. She asked how she cannot do what he wants her to do. Do Min Joon did not answer back and when she turned, he was gone. saddest part of the drama ever!!! She was not able to say her farewell. 

It seemed that before Min Joon left, he asked people close to her to look after her. She asked Hwi Kyung and Yoon Jae to always stay beside her. She misses him so much that she cries every time she hears anything about Do Min Joon.

She realized that it's difficult to not think about him than to think about him. So, she went to the places where they went together. On their 100th day as couple, she went to Namsan Tower as they have planned. She saw him briefly but it somehow seemed as if it was her imagination playing with her.  Lawyer Jang also saw him but just for a short while.

Then came three years after and Cheon Song Yi's poster on the building is back up. Yoon Jae has discovered an asteroid and named it DO Min Joon. Lee Jae Kyung told the prosecutors that he saw Do Min Joon on his prison cell. Song Yi is filming outdoors and she saw Do Min Joon among the crowd and breaks down in tears in front of so many people taking her photograph. She then cries at home telling everyone that she misses him so much.

At the awards ceremony, Cheon Song Yi arrived and posed and then time stopped but Song Yi is the only one moving then came a familiar face, Do Min Joon. YEY! It is really him and he kissed her while everyone is looking at them and taking photos of them then he suddenly disappeared.

At his library, he then explained what happened. He went to a wormhole and tried several times to go back but failed. All those times when people said they saw him were instances of him trying to return but it then failed quite a number of times. The good thing is that every time he did that, the time he can stay is longer. Song Yi is now happy that he can stay with her. The END!

It’s a happy ending for both of them. At least, he did not die nor was she left alone forever. Both of them do not know when he can disappear and then appear again. So the only thing they could do was to enjoy each other’s company and make it last and make wonderful memories with the uncertain time they are together. Kind of sad but still a happy ending. It was worth extending the drama for one more episode. I wish to see more of it, actually, but as Do Min Joon says, everything comes to an end one way or another.

I Know I said, "brief summary". LOL This is quite long for a brief one, right? LOL Now a review of what I have predicted a while back:

He did left Song Yi but then tried his best to return to earth to stay with her. Nobody else have to die. Jae Kyung is now in prison because of his crimes and the father already disowned him because he found out that Jae Kyung killed his older brother. Song Yi, as expected, rises up to the top again. Hwi Kyung is still very supportive of Song Yi, Sae Mi is now good to her. Lawyer Jang is still Lawyer Jang.

So the last few episodes were not an action packed one but a drama full of tears that made everyone cry.  Jun Ji Hyun is so good and so is Kim Soo Hyun. They look so good together.

They were the best actor and actress for this drama. Although, Kim Soo Hyun is younger than Jun Ji Hyun in real life, he made his character come to life.There was not an instance in the drama where you would see awkwardness in both of them because they played thier character so well and maybe because they have worked together in The Thieves movie, which I am going to see one of these days. I have read that Kim Soo Hyun is the only actor she has had a kissing scene with in her 2 decades of being an actress.. Stick to one eh? The red carpet kiss was THE KISS. It was so intense. LOL

An added points to the finale is 2NE1's Sandara Park who had a cameo appearance in the red carpet scene together with Kim Won Joon.  

One of the best endings I have seen in Korean Drama. Although, you may have to think whether Do Min Joon stayed for good but at least it makes us viewers appreciate the time we have in our life and that we have to spend it as if it was the last days. I hope to see more of Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun after this.
