The long wait is over Bel Ami, also known by many as Pretty Boy, is now being broadcasted every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:55 in Seoul. This drama stars my favorite hallyu star Jang Geun Suk. I was not very hooked into its first episode maybe because unconsciously I am comparing it with my reaction when
I watched the first episode of The Heirs. I may have been expecting too much for JKS. However, as always, his eyes can melt every girls heart!
As expected of a manhwa adaptation, expressions are somehow exaggerated especially that of Kim Bo Tong, played by IU. She looks cute and innocent plus I love her laugh, so sinister.
The story revolves about the life of Dokgo Ma Te (Jang Geun Suk). He is a male gold digger, as what one of the characters described him in the first episode. He choose to have that kind of life to support himself and his mom. The story moved fast when his mother died without telling him who he really is and why he cannot see his father yet. A divorced woman is telling him about who he really is and telling him to conquer powerful women in order to be acknowledged as his father's son. This is the start of his adventure as he try to find his identity.
